About QitikaNews

QitikaNews is a community feed aggregator. The idea is that the community votes and comments on the latest news items, while also submitting and voting on new feeds. The items are ranked in order of popularity as well as taking into account other factors such as publication date (and a few others)

Current Features

Currently QitikaNews supports voting and commenting on news items, as well as submitting new RSS 2.0 feeds (currently the voting system for these is in development). In the future we plan on providing support for Atom feeds, as well as earlier RSS versions. We are also working on more advanced ranking algorithms to ensure the content displayed reflects the communities interest

29/07/2009 Qitika Trends is now active on Qitika News, this is combined with our new (primitive) search page, which should allow you to search information that much more efficiently. Kepp the good ideas coming guys. By the way, the trends are based on feeds gathered over the last 7 days.

27/07/2009 Feed Voting is now active. Although at the moment the rankings are somewhat pointless, we are working on a ranking system where the ranking of the feed has an effect on the placement of news items. So stay tuned, and get voting
